In the course of my researches of what is genuinely a very ordinary family I have only discovered one link which can be deemed of real
historical interest.
My four times great grandfather was Thomas Browning (1751-1833) who married Elizabeth Hunwicks (1759-1820) .
Two of their children were my three times great grandfather Henry Browning (1801-1859) and his older brother John Hunwicks Browning (1793-1860).
It is this relationship which has produced an interesting fact.
John Hunwicks Browning is the great grandfather of Margery Louise Allingham.

Margery Louise Allingham was an author and crime writer who died of breast cancer in 1966. She was born on 20th May 1904 in Brentford Q2 1904 vol 3a page 144.
“... Margery Allingham is pre-eminent among the writers who brought the detective story to maturity in the decades between the two world wars. She created an aristocratic, unassuming detective called Albert Campion, who matured from "just a silly ass" of the 1920s to an eminent intelligence veteran forty years later. He ranks high among the great detectives of fiction but does so unobtrusively, disdaining self-advertisement. Other recurrent characters contribute richly to the Campion series: Campion's wife, Amanda; his manservant, Lugg; and his police associates, Stanislaus Oates and Charlie Luke. The novels and stories in which they appear are among the most distinguished in the genre – vivacious, stylish, observant, shapely, intricate and witty. They are unfailingly intelligent and imaginative ...”
