The Addicott and Loosemore families come together at two points to my knowledge. The first occasion is when George Loosemore married Mary Addicott in 1808. The second link is with the marriage of Emma Loosemore and Robert Addicott in 1873.
I have here attempted to interpret the relationships between these two families. Although the relationship is very distant the fact that both families lived in the same cottage ‘Labour in Vain’ in Thelbridge ten years apart in the mid 1800’s made it worth pursuing this line of enquiry.
In 1881 following their move to Lambeth, Emma and Robert have a cousin Edward Addicott staying with them. Trying to determine where he fits into the family I have taken the following view.
Edward Addicott is I believe Edwin Addicott the son of John and Frances Addicott who married in South Molton Q2 1848 vol 10 page 371. As he is the cousin of Robert then his father and Roberts father would be brothers. So I have been seeking a John Addicott and another living together aged about 20 in 1841 who are brothers unfortunately without success.
We know that Robert is the son of William Addicott as shown below
William Addicott 1819 – 1896 and Mary ??? 1826 - 1905
William Addicott 1819 - 1896
William Addicott was born about 1819 in Witheridge
In 1841 William is working at Westcott in Witheridge
